Ottawa, 19 March. State Promotion Event “ Shining Himachal” is organized by Himachali Pravasi Global Association (HPGA) with association of High Commission of India to Canada under a them of One District One Product (ODOP) in Ottawa – Canada on March 19. Deputy High Commissioner of India to Canada Chinmoy Naik attended the event as a chief guest. Event was inaugurated with lighting of lamp.
Member of Parliament Chandra Arya, Chief Statistician of Canada Anil Arora, Mayor Office Councillor Lina Jhonson and approx. 19 organizations joined the event with great enthusiasm. HPGA showcased Himachali Handloom ( Kulvi Shawls, caps, mufflers etc.), world famous Kangra Tea and research work of IIT Mandi. Event was joined through virtual mode by Chairman of Bhuttico Society, Satya Prakash Thakur who spoke about the Himachali Handloom industry, importance of Kangra Tea was shared by Rajiv Sood from Himalayan Brew Tea Estate and Sourab Katna from Sarvartra Travel shared the Himachal tourist sites information.
Energetic “Naati” was performed by Shivani Rathour, Jatin Kalia, Priti Kalia, Upasna Sharma, Neha Sharma, Shikha Verma and Tanishqa Kalia. Naksh Sharma and Kian Chauhan performed on a song of Saare Jahaan Se Achaa. Himachali Dhaam is served in lunch which is praised by all attendees.
Bhagya Chander delivered the welcome message, Ashu Kalia, Vivek Nazzar and volunteer team honoured the esteemed guests with Himachali caps and shawls. Arun Chauhan and Jake Dheer kept the show alive and delivered the vote of thanks.
